We are all about the Ed Banger French electro, so we hurriedly slap on some sun screen, squeeze into our bikinis and rush past the line (thank you, press pass) for the tender boats. Fifty minutes later, we've sleazed our way into a seat on the boat to Half Moon Cay, which is great because the line looks like it snakes along three decks with waits of about an hour and a half. We lull ourselves to sleep while listening to the sounds of Holy Ship DJs past and present on the closed-circuit cruise TV programming. Music videos from Boys Noize, Destructo, Tommy Trash and others run on an infinite loop until we start dreaming about tomorrow's surfside rager. Lord knows where our friends are or what they've gotten into. We can hardly keep our grip on reality, and frankly, we don't want to.
Insomniac Events Announces New EDC Party Cruise — And Yes, It’s Called EDSea
Yes, it’s true that probably 99% of cruisers have no idea this is taking place, or even took notice of the poorly-labeled donation buckets littered throughout the ship all weekend. But how many other production companies actually skim off the top of their profits to give back, and use the travel component of their program to do so on foreign shores around the world? Not many, I reason, inspired by witnessing first-hand the difference the Whet Foundation is making. And today’s mission is smuggling toys, clothes, and school supplies into Mexico for a covert drop-off at the City of Children orphanage in inner Ensanada. Yes, literally smuggling them into the country, since there are apparently laws about the kinds of donations you can make, and subsequently, the kinds of hoops you have to jump through to make them.

Holy Ship! Wrecked 2022
Noise Pop was created in 1993 to celebrate independent music and culture throughout the San Francisco Bay Area—so it's older than most ravers out there! Check out the lineup below and get tickets to Noise Pop here. House and Techno lovers will not want to miss this festival when it kicks off this February at the Expo Park in LA. With more and more festival options in the winter months, this one will be more than enough to tide you over until the summer fests start up later this year. Check out the killer lineup below and get tickets to Skyline Festival here.
EDSea is BACK!
For the best views, head to Point Udall (also the easternmost point in the United States) and follow the path up to the summit. For a taste of local history, stop by the centuries-old Fort Christiansvaern in Christiansted — it’s the best-preserved Danish fort in all the Virgin Islands. Foodies will find plenty to get excited about in St. Croix, where Dutch, French, Thai, and West Indian flavors come together to create a vibrant culinary scene. And you definitely can’t leave without a stop at either the Captain Morgan or Cruzan Rum distilleries. Experts here will teach you all about the history of the Caribbean’s favorite spirit before letting you sample the goods. If St. Croix sounds like the perfect island escape for you, you’re in luck — you can reach it on lots of Florida cruises sailing from Miami, one of the top Florida cruise ports.
If you just want to hit the beach, you’re in the right place — St. Thomas is home to some of the most picturesque stretches of coastline in the tropics. Head to Sapphire Beach for the best snorkeling, or opt for romantic Magen’s Bay if you’re looking for rest and relaxation. In addition to seeing your favorite DJs perform, the cruise puts on a series of events –from yoga to a poker tournament- that create all the more opportunities for you to interact with your favorite artists off stage, too.
Days of Summer Cruise Hip Hop Festival
To hug the new friends I’d made and bottle up the indescribable experience I had. Without a shadow of a doubt in my mind I am a part of the GC Fam for life, and cannot wait to be back. There was something for everyone, every moment of the day and night. With no enforced bedtime and soft-serve ice cream at your beck and call for 96 hours straight, we went through some downright inner child healing while onboard. Groove Cruise 2024 is shaping up to be an event for the ages.
St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands
On Thursday (Jan. 12), EDC producer Insomniac Events announced the launch of EDSea, a festival cruise that will set sail from Miami to the Bahamas on Nov. 4-8, 2023. Music cruises are simply the most comfortable way to enjoy a festival, because it’s also an incredible vacation! The destinations are always beautiful, the cruise amenities are top-notch, and the sunrises/ sunsets you’ll witness while onboard the ship will leave you speechless. They also can be a fantastic way to get up close and personal with your favorite EDM artists and DJ’s. It’s a really nice and intimate vibe on board these cruises, especially compared to the massive festivals, and it’s pretty common to see artists just strolling around the ship. Note that the 2020 Holy Ship music festival took place on land, at an all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic, instead of onboard a cruise ship.
THE FRIENDSHIP EXPERIENCE
As one of the first EDM festivals of the new year, Wobbleland boasts some of the biggest names in EDM in 2024. San Francisco is always a great spot to visit, and its moderate weather means you might get a nice break from the cold if you live somewhere other than California. In the past, attendees have organized pre-cruise meetups in various cities. These gatherings are a fantastic way to mingle and potentially find your rave buddy. With a line-up of world-class DJs and artists, it’s tempting to try and attend every set.

Holy Ship Cruise: An Epic EDM Party at Sea
From its humble beginnings, Groove Cruise has grown exponentially, attracting dance music enthusiasts from all over the world. The festival’s unique blend of sun, sea, and sound has made it a must-attend event for many. Over the years, Groove Cruise has featured some of the biggest names in the dance music industry, providing attendees with unforgettable musical memories. “Embarking on our second international voyage beyond Singapore, Asia’s Largest Festival at Sea is setting its course for South Korea.
The next voyage is taking off in May in Venice heading to Koper, Zadar and back to Venice. Wincing through a legendary hangover at breakfast the following morning, I’m greeted with a fist-bump from a 20-something year old woman I have no recollection of meeting the night before. Jenna (or was it Gemma?) struggles her way through a piece of toast as she recounts having caught the “sunrise set” that ended just an hour earlier — but we’re docked at Catalina Island and now the party continues ashore. Sometimes all I think about is seeing Lane 8 in Southern California during spring break. Sometimes, that wish can come true as it will at CRSSD Spring 2023. Grab tickets here and check out our guide on what to wear and everything you need to know about CRSSD.

The US has one of the biggest rave and EDM festival scenes in the world. From classics like EDC Las Vegas to some of the more up and coming EDM festivals, there is a ton to pick from! Here is a comprehensive list of all of the 2024 EDM festivals and other music festivals happening throughout the US. We'll do our best to keep this list refreshed with the most up-to-date information on all of the raves coming up in 2024. As a Groove Cruise “Virgin”, a term so affectionately used by festival veterans, I found it to be a treasured topic of discussion just how many charters one has encountered. To my astonishment, attendees and employees alike had returned for five, ten, fifteen, and even 20 years to embrace, enjoy, dance, and dream together onboard.

The biggest EDM festival of all moves to Orlando each November for an East Coast version. While I have heard it's a little bit stripped down compared to the Vegas festival, EDCO is still an epic festival from Insomniac. Over the years, Groove Cruise has expanded beyond music to offer a range of workshops and activities, reflecting its diverse culture. The Groove Cruise ship is designed to foster connections. From lounges to dining areas, there are numerous spaces where attendees gather and socialize. The Groove Cruise’s unique setting on the ocean is a reminder of the beauty and fragility of our natural environment.
The party will happen on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Joy, which, according to the cruise company, can host roughly 3,800 guests. The ship will offer eight separate stages and music venues, along with a go-kart track, a waterpark and laser tag. The four-night bacchanal will embark from Miami and dock at both Nassau in the Bahamas and the country’s Great Stirrup Cay, a regular destination for such music-focused party cruises.
We throw hand-hearts to them, but most of them don't see. Everyone waits with bated breath to see just who the Holy Ship's EDM special guest might be. There were rumors it might be Skrillex because he was just in Puerto Rico with Zedd. Some say it might even be the young Holy Ship superfan Zedd himself. We're absolutely starving and realize we haven't eaten in hours. We head to the buffet with our best bud from Chicago and grab up all the pears we can carry.
Check out the full lineup for Paradise Blue below and grab your tickets here before they sell out. If there's one or two festivals you make it to in 2024 let Ultra be on that list. This festival is unlike any other and is truly a wonder for EDM fans.
